1987 Cutlass Cruiser Surgeing and Stalling
Hello everybody, it's been a while since I have looked at this board, But im back with another Olds. It's an 87 Ciera Cutlass Cruiser Brougham with the 2.8 litre V6. It Is going to be my winter beater/ gas saver. I want to get it on the road as soon as possible. There is no issue starting the car, it will fire up fine when cold, but after it has warmed up there is a considerable surge in all gears some times to the point of stalling. Usually after it stalls in order to keep it alive I have to rev up the engine just for a bit until it starts surgeing again. Once I start driving it is fine no surging or stalling but at idle it surges and stalls.
I checked around the intake and vacuum lines with unlit propane to try to find a vacuum leak and found none. I noticed today that the cooling fan does not work but am not sure weather that would cause the problem. I've reset the ecm and that didn't do anything.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Pictures to come.
Thanks,
Dan
