The return spring inside the trunk latch is broken. (See example image.) The round torsion spring retains the latch when in the closed / locked position. Anyone have experience replacing the round spring inside the latch? Looks as if the 2 rivets holding the two halves together could be drilled out and replaced with bolts. Is the spring inside the manual trunk lock the same as in the electric trunk release? Trying to save an electric trunk release for '70 - '72 A-body. Thanks.
