tire size for 1969 olds 98
I have been looking around the Internet for some sizes of wheels/tires for my car, but I am not sure if I have it right. What I am considering is 18" Foose Nitrous wheels with 255/45/18 Nitto 555 tires. After looking and figuring, I believe that size will work, but I am not sure and would like to defer to the more experienced here.
What about it? Is that a proper size, or do I have it wrong?

Don't you have skirts on that car? I think you're gonna want to do a test fit before going with a tire that large. I also don't know that I would want a tire with that short of a sidewall on a car that weighs almost 5000 lbs empty. Not that they don't have the load capacity (better check that), but hitting a pothole would be a bad day all the way around.

I would also be concerned about fitting that wheel and tire behind the fender skirts. If I were in your shoes I would take the car to a shop like Goodyear or Firestone and have them fit various wheel/tire combinations on the car until I found one I liked.

The fenderskirts are the biggest problem with putting those tires on. I had to change the hubcaps after I got my car because the spoked ones he had on always rubbed the centercaps at any bump or pothole. 245's may be a possability but as mentioned you may want to see if you can get them fitted before buying. Sounds like you are lowering the car?
