tick tock tach need help

Hello I purchase the tick tock tach and right now I have a after market tach and the HEI msd 6AL digital box with coil on my 1972 cutlass right now and it's working great. Since that is working fine, can I just us the same wires off the after market Tach without the msd adapter?

I know this won't answer your question but everyone here will tell you yes and if you call MSD they will tell you that you need the adapter.

In my experience some tachometer's will work with the digital box and some will not. Your best bet is to try it and if doesn't work, you'll have to get an adapter. If it is wired up correctly, it won't hurt it to try.

If your current after market tach works then your tic tock tach should work also.

Correct. The factory tach uses the same type of tach signal as the aftermarket tach.

I have an older aftermarket tach that works well with my HEI but would not work with the MSD 6AL box I have in my coupe. I have a newer aftermarket tach in my coupe that works fine with the MSD 6AL box without the adapter. I don't know the difference between the two but I do know my experience.
