Tach reading

Anyone know how to get the factory tach to read rite ?
the distributor has the pertonix electronic set up in it instead of points .
i heard you have to put some sort of resistor in the line going to the coil.

Pertronix simply replaces your points, but does not change how your tach works. (which is based on the pulses sent to the coil) Some tachs can be switched between 6 or 8 cylinders. This can cause incorrect readings.

Tach

There is a small adjusting screw accessible from the rear of the tach casing behind a foil sticker.

It should work the same as with points, needs to be hooked to the coil- terminal.
