sensors

1985 buick with olds 307. On the right front side of the intake are two sensors with two wire elec. conectors to each "both must be for temp". I can't find one of them on the schematic. Car has ccc system. I am replacing block and heads with 70's eng.Using ccc sys.carb and dist. 350 intake may not have ports for both. Question (Is one for guage and other for ecm?)

Looked at the thread with photo the one in front on photo is oil. Well ok ! Im dealing with 1985 technology! If the intake i am geting is older with only one hole for temp sender to guage.I will look for other port in intake because heads have no place for other senser! could I tee off the one I will have for both? I am runing the CCC syst.so I will need it.Any ideas?

The port over the water pump is for oil. There are two sensor holes in the front manifold for the two water sensors. Making a T would not be practical, not only because of looks, but for accuracy. the sensors need to be in direct flow of coolant.
I am sure others have conquered this issue if this was a popular intake...

What Rob said.

The inboard coolant sender is for the idiot light or gauge. The outboard is for the ECM. Coolant senders MUST be in flowing coolant to work properly - unlike oil pressure senders that can be connected with a tee. If you can't find a manifold with two ports in the coolant passage, you can buy an aftermarket fitting that goes in the upper radiator hose for the gauge sender. Not ideal, but better than nothing.
