Been searching in vain on internet for a reliable source for part numbers, Oldsmobile in general and also GM. Specifically looking up a part number I have and results come back not found. Anyone have any sources or point me in the right direction? Thanks

Thanks Joe, but this is like looking for a needle in a haystack. I was looking for something where you could put in the part number and get a result of what it is and the model year application.

 

Click on the link I gave you. Now click on the menu item that says SEARCH.

 

The site Joe listed is usually quite good provided the part number has not been superceded too many times... However it is for older vehicles mostly 80's and back... For newer vehicles I use GMParts Direct... What is the particular part number you are trying to search???

 

I did try using the search and it came up with no results. Said to use a partial part number, tried all combinations still nothing. The parts are for rear-view mirror mount boots, 7756115 and 8719525. One i'm pretty sure was used for Olds, and the other maybe Pontiac.

 

Unfortunately that site only has some of the GM parts books, nowhere near all of them. That's the only site I know of with any P/N search capability.

 

Thanks, I guess I'll have to find pictures of known parts and compare with what I have.

I use the gmpartswiki site all the time. But sometimes the part numbers you plug in are vendor numbers and not GM numbers. Those mirror parts may fall into that category.

 

I'm just going by the number found on the piece which are original from the factory. I'll monkey with the website some more, maybe I'm not doing it correctly.
