Hey out thereI understand a blue 87 442 is dark teal metallic.
However I've searched to high heaven researching paint colors for 1987 Oldsmobiles and that color is not even listed
Id like to have mine painted as close as possible
Does anyone know the paint company and code to mix? Thanks for anyone's time

 

My 87 442 is also teal. You should have a SPID sticker in the trunk.

Located at the bottom of the SPID, your paint code is WA8592L for the blue, and WA8535 for the silver, which is also 12L on the SPID.

RPO code for the blue is 31. On the SPID it will be 31U.

Your interior color code was 27. Because you could only get a blue interior with a blue exterior.

If you're using BASF Diamont formulas, here's the mix info for a gallon. Make sure you're paint guy matches the shade if not everything is going to be re-painted. The BASF number for the mix is 15014.

What exactly is your question?

Interior code is 27 for an 87 that is 31 Teal Metallic. 31U and/or 31L means upper body color and lower body color as listed. But a 442 uses 12 Silver as the lower color, or 12L separated by the gold stripes. The upper color is Teal blue, or 31U.

If you go to the local auto paint supply shop and ask them to match 1987 GM interior code 27, they can match your blues. It's actually more of a dark blue, but as with any color, you're going to have different shades.
