If I understand the option list correctly, since my '72 Supreme has A/C, then it also has heavy duty cooling and the N47 variable ratio power steering. What exactly is that?

RPO N47 is just power steering. The steering box has variable ratio (slow near center but quicker at the ends of travel), but they all were. This made parking easier. PS was presumably required with A/C due to the extra weight of the A/C hardware on the front wheels. That A6 compressor alone must weigh 800 lbs!
