Mystery Key

Trying to find background history on this key. Back in 1972 when i was 16 with my 1st 1967 Cutlass my father who worked at an Olds dealership was given this key then a blank from the parts department for me. I had it cut for my car but when I eventually sold it I kept the key. I just had my present 1967 442 door locks and ignition rekeyed to use this key. I have never seen another has anybody else? It is labeled "1967" with olds logo on one side and "oldsmobile golden key club" on the other side. Just trying to dig up some history on it.

Maybe get a lap dace from the parts dept guy, lol
chrysler did the Crystal keys, ford gave out chrome plated keys at press in Detroit one year after seeing the new Bronco. I had a set of those, gave them to a buddy with a old Bronco. Now days, you get a plastic fob and a button in the car 🫤

Guess I was looking more about the history and reason behind the presentation of of the key itself. Like what were the requirements and who got them. A google search brings up zilch.

Find a Olds guy who worked at a dealership, the guy that runs the Cadillac parts counter locally used to run the Pontiac parts at a dealership, I go to him a few times a year and ask Pontiac questions.
live seen small gold keys at the swaps, they were awards I think though.

Have you considered that it may just be a merchandizing item? Here is something like your key, except it is for 69 models:

hello, I'm not sure if this is where I am supposed to reply to your request but I'll give it a go right here. A father worked for an Oldsmobile dealership when we first came to California probably in 1963 or 64. He passed his goal key on to me and I believe it was for selling the most Oldsmobiles at the dealership or it could have been combine sales amongst separate dealerships when they were having a quarterly contest. So I don't believe this key has any value unless sentimental.
