Lower radiator hose

1970 442. I bought upper and lower radiator hoses from Fusicks. The top one fits good but the lower radiator hose is way off. Is this just Fusicks or can I order one from Rock auto and get a correct one minus the writing on the hose? Anybody have this issue or have a source for the correct one?

I've had to trim every lower radiator hose I've bought for this era Oldsmobile for years, no matter where I bought it.

Yes, trim about 2 inches off and then bend, should be about right.

If you are going to try something else use dayco. Fit perfectly.

Just trim the engine side of the hose until it fits without kinking.

It looks like you should be able to trim as mentioned above, but if you run out of room to trim (looks like you can only trim about 2" from the water pump side before you fun out of room in the expanded section of hose), I used these on my holiday coupe and they fit perfect with no trimming.

OK thanks for that. It looks like I would have to trim too much like you said besides, I shouldn't have to be trimming a brand new hose.

Yeah, I agree but if you look at the AC Delco upper hose it says “trim to fit” so it’s not unheard of.

My Bad

You are correct. I was attempting to install upside down. Thank you for the clarification!
