Is there a specific sticky, or thread for me to post the door jamb vin plate to know what it is? I'll post it for attention

 

TheVIN isn’t going to tell you much.
you need to post a pic of the data plate on the firewall.

 

3 = Oldsmobile Division
36 = F85 Deluxe V8 model line
39 = Holiday Sedan body style (4dr hardtop)
6 = 1966 model year
Z = Fremont, CA assembly plant
last six digits are the build serial number of that car.

 

More info can be gleaned from the body tag on the firewall and even more from the vehicle ProtectOPlate if you are lucky enough to have that!

 

I do have that plate paper thing in my paper work. An I have a picture of the vin on the firewall but I can't upload it. I'll try an resize it

But of course you’re right. The vin can definitely supply such info.

The Fremont data plates don’t tell as much as a car built in Lansing…but-

VV = Almond beige upper and lower
944 = a fawn interior.
Built the 3rd week of November in Fremont California.

anything I miss that can be gleaned off this plate?
