Interchange in 1988 Cutlass and 1988 98

Hey...does anyone know if steering wheels between an 88 Cutlass and a 98 will interchange? Found one that looks the same, but not sure if it will or not...anyone know?

Thanks!

Matt

The picture on the left is a Toronado. The picture on the right is a 98. What swap are you trying to do?

It might work, though in '88, there was the RWD Cutlass Classic AND the FWD Cutlass (W-body, GM10 platform). I'd say the RWD Cutlass wheel would work, not so sure about the FWD Cutlass wheel (and I'll bet that one would look horrible, regardless). I beleive a Cutlass Ciera (FWD, A-body) wheel from that year (or thereabouts) would also work.

Your interior as I recall is kinda tan, which may limit wheel options as well.

Here'as a brown wheel from an 88 Cutlass (RWD or possibly a Ciera):

But I bet you'd like a leather wheel? Could be a tough find, but a "sport" wheel as used in an 86-89 Toronado Trofeo, would probably look great in your car. Possibly also a leather wheel from any similar era FE3 equipped 88 or 98 series car (I assume tan was an available color).

Again, 20+ years on, could be hard to finda wheel that matches your interior color AND is in nice shape; perhaps you can have the leather on yours restored, as previously discussed in another thread.

Most of the GM steering wheels from 1969-up will interchange, or at least fit.

Pity buying the N.E. Patriots didn't work out quite as well for him.

I still say that Ebay wheel would be the perfect choice.
