Ignition switch stuck

Ignition switch stuck
I've got a 1971 Cutlass and my ignition lock is STUCK! When I look into that slot I only see the cylinder. My screw driver can't push anything in. I've got pictures of what I'm looking at, but I've already broken the hand grips of the mechanism you turn. So, now I have nothing to pull on. Any thoughts?

The pictures would help us help you. Be sure you are pushing in the correct slot. The most obvious slot is NOT the correct one, and the correct slot is often covered with casting flash that you need to poke through. The spring tab is on the outer sleeve of the lock cylinder and does not rotate with the key, so it is always there. The fact that you can't see it tell me you're looking in the wrong place.
