horn is staying on

horn is staying on

I have a 1970 442 with tilt steering, I just change the steering wheel and everything when smooth till I connected the battery and the horn is staying on, took the steering out 3 time but I don't see what I'm doing wrong....can anyone help

When a horn sounds, that means it is being grounded. Did you put the spring in place under the cap? Is there a wire pinched somewhere and touching metal?

As stated above, either the wire is shorted to ground or its assembled incorrectly.

The spring is under the plastic cap, but I'm not sure if the connector clip was touching other metal besides the cap that connect above the steering wheel...I'm new at this....I will try again later....Thanks for info.
