Hello I have a 72 cutlass and purchase the dual gate shifter.the cutlass already have the original floor shifter so I removed it and install my dual gate but now im have problems, when I change gears its not matching to what my center console. I match the dual gate brackets up to the original holes or is it the transmission lock cable mount? Both are a 3 speed

 

Did you install the correct Dual Gate shifter cable along with the shifter?

You will likely need to adjust the cable at the transmission in order to get it lined up properly. There is a slight bit of adjustment where the cable is bolted to the transmission shifter ear - the hole is slotted to allow some fore-aft movement.
