Heater delete hose routing 67 and earlier.
Heater delete hose routing 67 and earlier.
The C48 option, at least in 67, and maybe earlier, was Heater and Defroster, Delete for a 71.50 credit. I believe they became federally mandated in 68.
In years that it was available, I imagine the heater box was gone, a blockoff plate was on the firewall, the controls were gone and blanked out. The AC cars had a valve coming out the back of the back, and the heater only cars had a flow orifice restrictor. Both cars went to the heater core, then back to the water pump.
For a no heater car, was that coolant circuit capped, like a plug in the block hole and a plug in the water pump hole, or was it routed from the back of the block back to the water pump, a la the 'redneck leaking heater core fix' with one piece of hose? I think the barbs are different sizes.
