Smile headliner/windlace or trim???

i am restoring a 1969 442 Holiday Coupe. I am trying to determine what the headliner is held by on the sides, just above the windows. I have the windlace for the front windshield and rear glass, but i am a little unsettled about the sides. Is it also just windlace? I had someone suggest on a 442 as opposed to a cutlass that there was some chrome trim that held the headliner on above the windows. I looked at a restored 69 cutlass and it was just the windlace, is there any difference on the 442? Thanks

I know more about 66-7, but I think the 69 is the same. The headliner has yellow weatherstrip type adhesive on the back side where it folds over the pinch welded steel, and the windlace holds it in place.

The 68's had a trim piece on some models or option or something, don't know about '69.
Check it out.

My '71 Vista uses headliner retainer strips screwed to the roof that the windlace/headliner trim fits over.
If those are missing and it uses them it may look like something is missing .

Yep, my '68 442 had aluminum strips that ran where the side windlace would normally go. Not sure about the '69 either.
