has anyone ever used DuraCool refrigerant

I heard of Dura Cool as a replacement for R12 refrigerant. Has anyone ever used it? Dose it work and can it be used with older R12 systems?

Use the R-12, I found it on clist. I used an alternitive, it didn't cool and very high condenser temp. Had to flush the sys including the oil and refilled with R-12 now I have 38-42 vent temps.

I read that Duracool is mostly R-134a with additives (oil?) added to allow use is R-12 systems.

I have used it my 1971 Cutlass, an 87 Bronco, and a 84 Delta, and is has restored to ice cold, systems that were either low or completely drained. It mixes with either 134a or R12 and has denser molecules than 134a. You do not have to evacuate the old refrigerant. It is cheap ($100 or less, depending on how low the system is) and easy to do yourself. Buy the kit with the gauge.
