front fender to radiator support

I'm trying to remember how the front fenders fit to the radiator support on my 1970 442. I feel like a dummy and I'm second guessing myself.

Here's the problem, The radiator support has three bolt holes on each side to attach to each fender ( top of support ). I can't find a good diagram in the manual that illustrates the correct way to attach the fenders to the radiator support. The fenders seem to want to attach with the first bolt hole inside the fender and the second and third bolt holes on the outside of the fender.

I just came back from a local car show and looked at an older Cutlass that had the fenders attached the way I described above. I know that the 67' Cutlass is a little different with the radiator support and fender mounting but can anyone tell me if that is correct. The first mounting hole goes inside the fender and the second and third mounting holes on the outside of the fender ?

Maybe someone can tell me what page I missed in the manual to find the diagram for mounting the fenders. HELP !

If someone has a photo of this area of the car and is willing to post it that would be great.

The fender also mounts to the back side of the core support with two bolts to the inside of the fender.

I just start with one bolt in the cowl and one to the support. Then put the other ones in. Leaving them loose putting shims in when needed. Tighten when I get the alignment right.

Its easier to install the fender with the inner fender already attached to it.

No problem, glad I could help.

I have a friend that moved to Issaquah a few years ago. I think he likes it there better than Wichita...
