electronic ignition/ power coil question

electronic ignition/ power coil question
I've got a 1970 Cutlass Supreme with the high compression 350 (310hp). I wanted to go to an electronic ignition (maybe the Ignitor or Ignitor II) and a better coil. Any suggestions? Is anyone out there running a set-up like that? Things to watch for? Preparations to make?
Thanks!

Funny you should ask this

Pertronix rocks. I installed the older Ignitor I in my Cutlass and
I am very happy with it. Looks stock and no points to burn up. Set it and forget it. I understand from other posts that the Ignitor II is easier to install and triggers from the cam lobes, I would spend a little extra and treat your Olds to the Ignitor II IMHO.

Thanks all! I ordered an Ignitor II from Summit Racing today along with the Ignitor II Coil. Does anyone know if I will have to remove any external voltage regulators or resistors with the newer 45,000 volt coil?

You shouldn't have any external ballast on a 1970 Cutlass Supreme. I believe the last year they were used was 1969 (somebody who knows for sure will correct me if I'm wrong ). If you do have an external ballast, just follow the directions under commonly asked questions.

I called on '70 and they said if you bought matched ignitor and coil you were cool ...They have good support, call 'em...
