Do SBO/BBO share any pieces with Buick 455?

I'm piecing together a Buick 455 for my '71 GS, and I still lack some odds and ends. I have several Olds 350s and 455s and associated parts.

Specifically, I'm wondering about:

- Lifters
- Pushrods
- Head bolts (I know, I know, never reuse...)
- Valve train rocker parts

Thanks in advance, Steve

No to every thing except I do not know about the lifters.

The only thing for sure is the distributor cap. Lifters, maybe. Somebody else will be able to confirm that.

Distributor cap
points
coolant
pretty short list.
Entirely different GM groups designed these motor families.

Now as for never re-using the head bolts...
The factory manual does not say that. These are not "torque to yield" bolts. They should last just about forever.

Aw, c'mon Chris. The list is MUCH longer:

Rotor
Bellhousing (usually, some only have a RH starter notch)
Carb gasket
Ignition coil

At least with a Pontiac motor, the starter also interchanges.

Pontiac & olds same lifter. Buick different.

I hear they use the same oil & spark plugs though.

Block, rods, pistons, heads, intake, water pump all different.

Valve stem seals would be the same, and you could cheat a little and use .020 oversize 455 Olds rings in a std bore Buick 455.

Until they break when torquing.

What are you talking about?

There is no need to use new head bolts when assembling stock-spec. Olds engines.
