Ron, adjustment may or may not be possible. If you could post some somewhat-close pictures of the wrinked areas, we could evaluate it better.
Does the top open close and seal all around properly?

The wrinkles are located right behind the rear windows(c-pillars) and run on the horizontal, about 3 to 4 ".By the way,my 72 is white with white and black interior.

I installed my top at home and I can tell you it takes a lot of fiddling for a novice to get right. The problem you have is with how the top is mounted to the trim stick. It has too much stack at the corners, that said unless you have done it before it is a PAIA is remove and readjust and retack. I had mine out no less than 5 times before I got it right (you also need to factor in removing all the rear seat trim and cushions). If you have never done it , it needs to go back to the trim shop to get right.

IMHO this is one that is worth paying an expert to do. It's tricky and one adjustment leads to others. I've seen people really mess up and I've seen people who know what they're doing make it look easy. Ya kinda got to Zin "Be the Top" nanananaaaaaaaaaaaa

Even the shop that did mine was supposed to have been an expert, but it stretches too tight and does not retract enough to get the boot on.
I will fix all that with the next top...

When it's cold, the only way I can get my top locked down is to park it in the sun [dark blue top] and turn on the heater to get the top soft enough enough to stretch into place

Sounds like yours is way tighter than mine even!
I can latch it at 30* with the windows lowered some and hitting the switch with one hand and latching the left with the other hand. Right one grabs easily after.
In summer, window lowering is not needed.

While we're on the subject. I don't know about 72's but 69's have only one pin in the top. On the drivers side. I've often thought that odd.

One is an odd number, you are right...

Why would a '69 have one, a '71 two, and a '72 one latching pin??
I'll have to go get a ladder and climb up on the lift and see how many my '68 GTO has.
They probably did it so only one pin would never align right.
It is a pain sometimes with two and people were probably coming in for service too much?

I got my GTO from San Antonio, Texas in '95 and I had the PO take it to a Mexican trim shop for the top before it was shipped, the top was a deal?
The thing fits, looks and works great to this day.
I should have had a diamond tuck and roll interior done too.
It would have only been another 75 bucks.
