Carb Numbers Question

I have what I believe is the original Quadrajet for my 70 Supreme (it was replaced years ago). The numbers on it are 7040208. These are numbers for a "Chevy" division carb I'm pretty sure. Anyone run across this before?

I have 7040250 as correct for a '70 350 4-bbl.

Google it and that's a 1970 carb but it's for a Chebby truck.
I would guess by that info and the numbers given by wmachine that it's not the original carb.

Does the fuel line inlet on the carb face toward the front of the engine or one side?
I thought Chebby fuel inlets faced to the side and Olds faced to the front??

I googled the quadrajet number scheme and 0 is a Chevy division code. Did find one quote saying that Rochester did not stick exclusively to their own numbering system, hence my confusion. don't know why they wouldn't. I'll check out the fuel inlet position, can't recall off the top of my head.
