Best Valve Cover Gasket

What is the absolute best valve cover gasket to use? Specifically with cast aluminum covers, if that matters.

I believe the SCE's have crush sleeves to prevent over tightening.

Edelbrocks have a steel core

Mr Gasket seems similar to Edelbrock

There is also the plastic kind that has 2 rubber seals, almost like O rings that go all the way around. Didn't see them on Summits website.

Nick, unfortunatly the best gasket IMHO is not being made anymore.

Formally known as the "Felpro perma dry plus" part # VS 13403 T.

Maybe you'll have luck finding some old stock...good luck. If I had to choose from your examples, I'd pick the SCE, but I haven't used them.

I've found just plain old cork or rubber work fine with olds engines. Make sure the surfaces are clean and reassemble.

Don - that is the one I was referring to but didn't see on the website. I used to have a set laying around, time to check storage!

I have had a set of basically harder plastic valve cover gaskets that have been re used several times with no problems. I recieved these from mondello performance and have had no problems for almost 10 years, By the way check your local speed shop also for a set if you are interested in them. these gaskets avoid the bs that others can have.

Don, I found my old set of those valve cover gaskets. The cast Oldsmobile covers I bought came in this week as well. Looking forward to a 'new' slick set of covers with NO LEAKS.

Will be replacing a set of stock appearing tall covers.

I use cork, and weatherstrip adhesive to the cover.
Never a problem, if you grease the head
