How can I dismantle the seat belt buzzer on a 72 cutlass conv,, it continues to buzz even when the front seat belts are attached.

 

You can unplug the wire connected to the buzzer. I did that to my car in the 80s.

 

Thanks, I thought that was the only way to stop it, if I recall it’s mounted up under the center of the dash and not that easily accessible?

 

Sorry I just realized you said seat belt buzzer. I was thinking key in ignition buzzer when I posted above.

I don’t know the specifics about the seat belt buzzer, but it must have some wiring at the belts that completes a circuit when the belt is latched. I’m thinking you could “trick” that by shorting the wiring to make the system think the belt is latched.

 

Exactly where is the key in buzzer located?

 

I wonder if you could unplug the sensor under the seat and make it stop? John

 

On my 1971 the key buzzer is in the horn relay.
