Heated seat 72 cutlass?

Guys can you help me identify this? It appears to be a heated seat, but did olds offer that as an option in 72?

That's the fasten seat belt buzzer sensor. 1972 is the first year Cutlass had this.

I'm gonna take a guess and say that is for the seat belt sensor. Somebody will know for sure.

Lol. You guys are awesome! And on top of things. Thanks for the info. I was stumped. That never even occurred to me. Although thinking about it now that would probably be quite a fire hazard!

Now, if you want to make it shut up, your seat belt spools should have a removable panel on them with a harness plugging into it. Unplug it, and the car thinks they're both extended all the time. At least other divisions did it this way, may be incorrect.

Just an add on to John's post. If you look at the idiot cluster (Fuel gage) you'll see the bottom in the middle has the 'Fasten Seat Belts' light there. This would only apply to cars manufactured after Jan 1, 1972. Some early 72's won't have this though as the factory's used up stock before installing the new design.

After Jan 72, Cutlass models with U21 rallye pac gages also had the 'Fasten Seat Belt' light mounted in a pod mounted on the top center of the dash pad.
