We are installing the new headliner in my 72 Cutlass S and are trying to run down where the dome light connects into the wiring harness. When we took the car completely apart, we left the domelight wire in the roof where it mounts to the light but can't find where the wiring plugs into either the ribbon that goes to the rear of the car or to the harness under the dash.

Can someone describe how/where it runs and connects to the ribbon or the main harness or post a diagram of such from the fisher manual or other reference?

Look in the trunk, on the drivers side up near the package tray/wheel well. There should be a plug for it there, one orange and one white wire.
