71 Cutlass HVAC rectangular hose

Hello all,
Has anyone found a source for the rectangular HVAC hose located under the dash? I found plenty sources for the round hoses. I was also thinking about purchasing a
length of round with a slightly larger ID parameter and attempt to form fit and see if that will work.
Any ideas or suggestions appreciated -
Yes I have tried to repair and removed as gently as possible mitigating any further damage - as your all aware almost 50 yrs has taken it's toll and hoses have seen better days.

I believe I know which hose/tube you're referring to but I'm not 100% certain. I've had to remove my HVAC hoses several times, I just don't recall which one you might be referring to. At any rate, I'll make a suggestion.

If it's the tube/hose which has a cloth texture, I believe this tube/hose also has a rigid wire surround enclosure if I'm not mistaken. You'll see where I'm heading in a second.

I've wrapped a couple of the hoses/tubes in black cotton cloth friction tape w/ exceptional results which nearly mimic OEM. There are several companies which make black cotton cloth friction tape. Do a Google search. I'll post a link for one (below). The ACE brand is nearly the same, but honestly I have not checked out many manufactures of the product. You might try to just wrap it yourself - it really works quite well if it's the tube/hose I believe you might be referring to.

Thanks, I like the tape from Ace - I think will will work. I have exhausted all my resources and unable to find anything close. It's an AC hose that is pretty well out of site.
The guy selling the hoses is asking a fortune and is selling the same 50 year old stuff I have in the car. I already looked at his stuff quite a while ago.
Thanks again for the idea.

I did the same and wrapped the bad portions of hose near the ends with tape and they have worked well.

JS, I think it is #4 in the picture linked to the Parts Guy. He says it is very limited. Only square hose in the system shown.

If you aren’t concerned with absolute originality I would find a round hose tight enough to push snugly over the ducts. That is a lot of money for a small part.

That's what I was going to try - I have the car almost back together and spent a ton $$$ on parts ( no surprise to anyone ), anyway just wanted to get it right. I was going to give the Ace cloth tape a try - you are correct however, it is only a hose and it really can't be readily viewed. Just can't believe there is nothing out there, I have been looking at HVAC supply companies etc. Nobody has anything close. I refuse to pay for used part that I have no doubt is same condition of what I already have.

Early T Birds have a square hose from the heater motor to the heater duct but it might be too big.
