I have a 70 convertible cutlass sx and I need a trunk are cutlass s trunks the same?

I was told they are but the cutlass s trunk I ordered does not fit right, everything fits but it's about 2 centimeters 2 long so the chrome line is off, this is not a aftermarket trunk

No, the SX was based on the Cutlass Supreme body style not the Cutlass S/442, but the Supreme has sharp square corners up near the back windsheld. The convertible has rounded corners. The Cutlass 4 door used the same trunk or deck lid as the convertible, which is a lot easier to find. There's a couple posts with photos showing these differences, if you have trouble locating that let us know. John

Like said above, there are 3 lids to start with. S, 2 door supreme hardtop, and Supreme Convertible or 4 door.

Of those types, there were different holes in different places for different trim, so you may get the right lid with the wrong holes that will need address. A 442 convertible and a Cutlass Supreme convertible used different trim on the same lid.
