69 Cutlass headlights ****

My American Autowire kit came with a new headlight switch. I’m supposed to use the old **** and bezel.

the old **** won’t stay on and there’s no way to attach it without glue.

am I missing something? If I glue it I’ll have to saw it off if I ever need to change out the switch?

Just get a new **** and shaft assembly. They aren't that difficult to find.

Nobody else mentioned this so I will point out the obvious. To remove the **** and shaft, you pull the **** out like turning on the lights (battery disconnected) then press the small button on the top of the actual switch. This will release the shaft so it can be fully removed. Unscrew the retaining nut to remove the switch and reverse everything to put it back together. No need to saw anything off.

As stated by cjsdad, the **** and shaft come out as a unit. Just glue it on.
