Probably neither. If original and the car was not built in Canada, it's a rear end specific to Oldsmobile and only used in the '68 ('67?) through '70 model years. Tell us the casting number on the housing. The two-letter stamp in the right axle tube would also be helpful.

 

Does the cover have 10 bolts or 12 bolts?

 

10 bolts I didn't know if an O axle had a 10 bolt cover I knew they had 12.Thanks Willie

 

OK, 10 bolt cover rules out the O-type that most '68-'70s came with. Check the casting number on the side of the center section as BlackGold posted.
