71 delta 88

Looking at a 1971 Delta 88 with the 455 engine. Did this car come with duel exhaust? This car has that.

Thanks Cheesehead2

Seems like it may have been an option. Upper end 88 models or 98 perhaps.

If so the exhaust manifolds should have a prominent W on the left one and Z on the right one.

That's THE CAR's left and right, not yours.

"Duel" exhaust is the rare option where the two exhaust pipes are shooting at each other...

DUAL exhaust was optionally available under RPO N10.

Note that the 1971 D88 could be ordered with one of two 455 motors. The standard motor was the L30 2bbl motor, which was only offered with single exhaust. The L31 4bbl motor came standard with single exhaust but N10 dual exhaust was available.

Here is a dual exhaust manifold set

Notice the large W and Z on the front runner.

This W/Z pair would not be found on 1970 and earlier Big Cars, which used the S/T pair. For 1971-2 or so though I have seen the W/Z set on the BiG Cars as well as A-bodies
