A couple of months ago, I purchased a 63 Cutlass from Sal's Auto Service in St James NY. and had it shipped to Arizona. I was a bit disappointed in the power output of the 215 V8, but didn't think much of it. Last week I had it idling with a valve cover off and noticed cylinder 7 exhaust rocker was barely moving..... You guessed it, a flat cam lobe. To r&r the cam the AC condenser had to be taken out. So after getting everything buttoned up I called Sal to verify the AC system had been converted to 134 since it had the 134 fittings. I told him about the cam being bad, and that I had to replace it, I was very surprised that he volunteered to pay for the parts, I never expected him to pay me back for the new cam......
Moral of the story, for every bad experience with people buying and selling cars & parts, there are many honest standup guys that do the right thing...

 

That was a nice gesture as it rarely happens in the auto industry.

 

That is a great story. Thanks for sharing. A lot of people are really quick to tell about how they get screwed and few take the time to share the good experiences. Restores my faith in mankind. Kinda.......
