Year One Magnum Wheels

Has anyone bought these for their Olds. I am thinking of an upgrade (so I can make some brake upgrades) and think these are retro cool. I am leaning toward the 17". Is there any optimum offset etc. that will suit me best for the future upgrades.

If there are any older posts on this let me know. I searched but did not come up with much.

Thank you.

I'm not familiar with the wheels you mentioned; however, it's always a good idea to upgrade the wheels on your car. Here is an excellent article about measuring stock wheels to determine what size you will need to buy.

Haven't bought 'em but I like 'em. They are on my finalist list for wheels. Along with the circle racing magnums.

One more option for the upsized SSI look is the American Racing VN500. I just got a set of 17s, 8" front and 9.5" rear, on eBay for $1400 shipped, including lug nuts. I have a '69 442 and they fit great with 4.5" front and 5.5" rear backspacing; stock center caps fit with a little modifying of the retainer. They also look like they'll fit over Corvette C5 brakes.

Hey Eric - I am looking at these same wheels and need to get them ordered. Have you ran into anyone on the site that has these?

I just want a few more pics before I cut a check.

Thanks!

No I haven't. I haven't seen very many pics of them installed either but they have the right look and size selection.
