Sorry, no adjustment.
Check for worn out rockers
or a cracked or broken bridge.
It could also have a mushroomed push rod.
Did they replace cam and lifters
on this rebuild? You may just need
to go back and tighten the rockers up.

This is correct but the rocker bolts should never come loose so it is doubtful they need tightening. Most likely you need to replace the worn rockers and bridge. Since the bridge holds 2 rockers they should be replaced as a set.

X4 on the rockers and stands. They can be had at your local parts store.

yes the cam and lifters were replaced and i have yet to take the valve covers off to see if it could be any of the above. i noticed its louder under the engine then the top, i thought it might be the crankshaft bearing but i hear thats more of a knocking sound, this is a distinctive ticking sound and ticks more with acceleration

If it sounds like it is more in the middle
of the engine, my guess would be a bad lifter.
I would begin by pulling the valve covers off
and see if you have any loose or cracked bridges.
This way you can check for bad pushrods. Also
make sure that none of them are stopped up.
If oil can't flow through them, tik, tik, tik.

I'd be sure that it wasn't a exhaust leak first.Than you could try longer push rod-rods.I saw someone once use a hammer handle holding down on the rocker to see exactly which one was making the noise.

I had a baffle come loose in the valve cover and one of the rockers was tapping it. That's probably a rare case though.
