how to adjust idle air bleed screw in airhorn of carburetor 307 olds v8

my idle is a little to lean i can see it on the air/fuel mixture gauge i installed, i cant quite get the sweet spot on the idle air bleed screw, does anyone know how many turns in/out is perfect for a 307 v8 with quardajet 4bbl carb (pretty sure its a e4me model) and also how to adjust the air/fuel mixture for when the car is in motion

A good "starting point" is 2.5 turns out on each screw. To set them properly for idle use your air/fuel gauge and set it to a 14.7:1 ratio of air to fuel. Either that or use a vacuum gauge hooked up to manifold vacuum and set your idle mixture screws so you are reading maximum vacuum.

To set the air fuel mixture when the car is in motion you have to adjust your metering rods and jets. I suggest against this since you are using an electric Q-jet.

thanks for the info, i dont think i was talking about the right adjustment, on top of the carb in front of the primaries is a thing that stand up with a cap on it well it used to have a cap probably years ago anyway theres a screw in there like flat head type screw and i thought that was the idle air bleed, theres only 1 screw in that air horn im trying to adjust that, mixture control solenoid screw? im not sure what its called but i tinkered with it a little and got the air/fuel ratio nearly perfect at idle but its still a little rich so i need to fine tune it im wondering about that screw how to adjust and make it perfect

You probably adjusted the electric solenoid for the metering rods. To further adjust the idle mixture you need to remove the service caps from the front of the throttle plate and adjust the idle mixture screws.
