I have a 79 cutlass with a 71, 350 rocket in it and it has been sitting for about 3 months before I sat it down to help my son with his project my car ran beautifully I could get down on the gas and she would move , now when I crank her she cranks fine but when I pull off and try to get down on her she kinda hesitates I have to get of the gas and get back down on it for it tonperfom the way I want it to. My dad said change the plugs the car has been sitting a while and the plugy could be bad the wires are good and the dist.cap is fine what could my problem be?

 

Take it to the station and
put some 93 octane in it.
Take it for a good 10 mi cruise.

Todays gas just doesn't last
worth a darn sitting up.

LOL thats good,best guess is accelerator pump dryed out .

 

Accelerator pump I'm not sure if there's one on this motor and 93 octane (lol) gas is already high couldn't I just put a hotter plug in it and add some octane booster to my gas.

Sure, if you wanted to spend even more money.


As suggested, take it out and drive it like you stole it, if that doesn't do it, consider a dried accelerator pump skirt, or possibly a new vacuum leak, possibly caused by a gnawing rodent while it was stored.

Certainly it's never a bad idea to check the plugs, but there should be no need to change them.
