Boneyard Visit - 56 4dr?

The '69-70 350 had new lifters and double row timing set, so let's see...
Lug 100 lbs of tools out back. WAY out back. It's good to have a hand truck.
HT starter, better grab that. jack car up, get starter off.
Pull lifters out, yep, they are all new and perfect. Balancer removal... put 1.125 socket on and... it's loose. Previous assembler was an idiot? Pry it a little, to no avail.
OK, get hydraulic puller out.... of the TRUCK?! Dammit 1/4 mile hike... found yard man to watch my tools instead of dragging them both ways AGAIN. Remove motor mount thru bolt, jack up engine, extract damper... meh, there's a generic chinesium timing set. And the lower sprocket does not want to come off. Well, let's see what this hot rod cam is...
Pull the dist'r and then the cam, on the back we have...
"554" inked on? Really? Factory 350-2bbl cam? Dangit.
Weird, the '69 & '70 Assembly manuals suggest that the cam used in the bottom of the line 350-2bbl [with chamfered lower 1/3 or so front face, as I found] would be PN 400085... not xxx554, which I would think that "554" inked on the aft face would mean.

So, ended up with some new lifters, one high torque starter, and a core harmonic damper with the stepped OD as used 1968-70 or so.
On the way out I noticed a really old car, 1950's. The cap appears to be on its way in?? Too bad because they never sell cars as a whole at this place.
Body redone-ish, no trim, no front end
I go see... no name, no model
smog era 307 engine?
4dr, would make a great doorless 2-dr.

no body tag. Lots of parts in boxes inside.
open the driver door to find a VIN tag indicating 1956 Olds I believe.
