wiper refills 16 inch

Does anyone know where I can get the 16 inch wiper refills for my cars? I used to use Anco back in the day but can't seem to find anything like that now. The universal break off to the right size ones are junk! Any help would be great! Thanks!

NAPA, RockAuto, even WalMart sells them here in northern VA. I actually get the chrome "classic series" blades from NAPA. They look like OEM and fit my 62 nicely.

All of the retail outlets here stopped carrying refills and now all you can buy are individual blades, so I started buying refills from Rock Auto in bulk to make the shipping worthwhile.

He's not looking for blades, Joe, he's looking for refills.

I've had the same problem. Between the fact that there's a better profit margin on blades, and the fact that Joe Average no longer has the dexterity to install refills, they don't make them anymore (though I'll have to check RockAuto - Thanks, Fun71!).

Last time I needed refills, I bought two cheap blades that had refills the size I needed in them, cut the refills out, spent an hour forcing them into place in my blades, and threw away the "new" blades.

Waste of time and money.

I just checked RockAuto - they do have refills, but you have to look under "Tools and Universal Parts" ("Wipers" is at the bottom of the list).

Unfortunately, they do not list any in 16".

Search for Anco U16R. Those are the plastic ones - I bought the metal ones which I think were Trico refills.

I don't know the Trico number but I'll try to remember to look in my stash when I get home and see if I have any left.

Last time I bought wipers for my 71 the local auto parts store still had refills. Of course, that was this time last year. I didn't know most places stopped carrying refills. That is a bummer.

I looked at my wiper refill stash and I still have some for the Cutlass.
Trico 45-160

I just checked Rock Auto and they show to have them.

The guys at the parts store told me that almost all new cars have different sizes left to right which is why they stopped carrying pairs of refills. I'm not sure I buy that explanation.

My '09 Acadia has 21" on the passenger side and 24" on the driver's. I buy two 21" as the 24" on the driver's side makes an irritating "clunk" noise which a 21" doesn't.

My '10 Equinox and '12 Cruze both have different sizes on the different sides as well.

I contacted Trico a few weeks ago as I needed 16" refills for a 69 442. They gave me #43-160 and I bought them on Ebay.

My wife's 03 VW Beetle had two different sizes. I recall that I always bought refills for her VW because one of the wiper arms had a flange built into it that allowed the arms to settle into the "park" position. I'm sure glad we got rid of that car.

OK, I should clarify my statement.
I know the new cars have different sizes left and right.
What I do not believe is that is the reason refills are no longer available.
Why not sell refills individually? Not as much profit margin as selling an entire blade.
