Cleaning Up
I cleaned up the visors and passenger side door panel . I may need a decent cleaner to get this any better then I did . I will also have to go to Michael's Craft store to see if they have anything similar to a size 92 bonded nylon thread to sew the visors back up . I will also need a mirror for the passenger visor ....

I was at Walmart and to my surprise they had Automobile Nylon Upholstery Thread . It was real fun trying to thread the small needle in order to sew these visors , but I got it done . They turned out pretty decent , but what a PITA 
....

I'm finally back and getting things going on this car again , and my latest adventure is the vinyl top . I peeled it off along with the chrome trim above doors and around the windows , I'm happy to report that the only holes are in one spot and they're not very big . Also the metal is solid surrounding the holes ....

Finally Updates
I bought a transmission from a local shop near Milwaukee , It's rated at 500HP / about 500 FPT w/shift kit and mild TQ ....
It was actually pretty easy to do the swap , aside from the bell housing bolts . I didn't realize the drive shaft was so easy to remove ... Note to self - Don't let end caps on U-Joints fall off . I had fun putting all those little needles back in the cap , I'm glad only one fell off . I'm going to installing new U-Joints this spring , I couldn't do the replacement at this time . My mom wanted her garage back , luckily everything else went pretty good . The only other thing I can think of is the speedometer cable is making noise at the speedometer , I need to address this before it breaks . I must have the cable binded or something where I attached it to the new transmission ....

I added Epoxy Primer , I didn't buy PPG ( too much money ) . I bought Mason Full Poxy product , 2 parts - Activator/Hardener and Epoxy . It sprayed pretty well , It mixes 1-1 and is pretty easy to spray . It's thin though , I'll definitely have to sand and add more coats ....

Nice work. Make sure and talk nice to your neighbors. If they like you they will help if anyone complains about the body work being done it the garage. I did the same thing back in the 80's to a 73 Buick in the apartment carport. Good times!!

that carb is typical,a kit will come with a little hippo butt like sponge that sets in the well under those.also next time you do a trans swap pull the pan off first to drain most of the fluid out,makes a much smaller mess.

Yeah , I pulled off pan and drained .... there must of been unreleased pressure in there or something . I came back the next day and had a mess , mainly because I didn't have the drain pan completely in the right spot perhaps .... Thanks for the info on the carb kit .

Ok , any ideas what would cause the car to all of a sudden not accelerate properly ? What I mean is .... I just touch the gas and it coughs and sputters like there are cylinders not getting gas , and if I don't feather the gas it will just die . It's fine in park or neutral for the most part , it just seems to do this under load . This is part of the reason I took the carb off , took it apart , and soaked it . I cleaned all the garbage of everywhere I could see , put it back together and now the problem seems worse . I did adjust one side of the carb air gas mixture screw to be consistent with the other side after I had it apart . Sometimes it doesn't do this as bad as other times .... I didn't seem to lose any power over this .
