James Garner 1970 Baja 442 on E-Bay

My dad used to tell me about this car when I was a kid. I never thought I'd see it again.

Was this the car that was in the off road hall of fame in Reno a couple years ago?

I'm a member of The National Automobile Museum and there was a car that looked a whole lot like this one in there.

Mike

Edit: Looking through the pictures on ebay I see a picture of it sitting in the museum, so the answer to my own question is yes.

I have a couple of the magazines they show on the add. Some one went to a lot of work restoring it.

I would drive it. Running the crap out of something as hard as you can drive is fun...

It was the first and only off road 442 I have ever seen.

auto_editor brought this up back in Nov of 2011. The car was presented at auction but there was no followup as to whether it sold

That car was in a magazine about a year ago, it's a cool piece of history, if I where rich it would be in my garage.

Still have the edition of Hot Rod Magazine where they went through the resto. Very interesting car, but for a bit out of my price range for an off road vehicle.

I always thought it was powered by an experimental Cam-Am all aluminum 455ci Big Block.

So it's a 410ci SBO, no wonder it ran so well.
