Hi Olds fans: Our Italian friend Olds67 needs some help (parts). He just sent me a picture of his recently restored 67 Delmont 88 from Italy.
I wonder what happened and I wonder what parts he needs? I have some parts available for him.

Here's what he said, "I had an accident while testing the 400 th, I came upon a car.

OUCH!
Been there done that (sans the damage thank goodness).

Could have been a ball joint failure, OR the upper control arm shaft bolts breaking. I had the latter.
Hopefully we can find some parts for him! Keep in touch of what his parts list includes.

I sold my '68's long ago, so I've got nothing for him (I know it's a '67), but I'm sure others here do!

Will a fender from a '67 98 Holiday Sedan interchange or is it a tad bit longer behind the wheelwell? I think my parts car has a solid LF fender (I'll have to check it closely though). If it would fit, I will be happy to remove & donate it but I do not have time to deal with the logistic aspects. I'm between Durham, NC & Danville VA & would haul it to any Oldsmophile who would be willing to help get it shipped overseas though. I'd be willing to drive an hour away from the Durham - Danville area if that makes sense.

Such a shame about what happened. That particular car is so nice & it's one of my personal favorite cars on this site.

 

The only thing that Olds67 has asked me for so far is a brake drum. I happen to have one available to send to him.
Olds67 is a pretty handy guy bending metal.
BTW... I can't see anything wrong with his brake drum from this picture.

Here's what he said, "I sent a photo of the brake drum 5"x5" bolt pattern, mine is very damaged and I can not fix it if you can help me find him.

So... I boxed up a front brake drum and checked for rates with UPS and Canada Post... UPS wants $404.86 shipped to Italy from Canada. Canada Postal Service wants $130.44 surface (slow boat to China), $268.44 Xpresspost International (6 business days), or $460.42 for Priority WW-parcel.

These rates floored our Italian friend.

Do you happen to have a front brake drum for a 1967 Oldsmobile Delmont 88 that you can ship to Olds67 for less than what I can?

The package weighs 34lbs and is 20x16x10.

This isn't going to be cheap no matter how you slice it.

According to the U.S. Postal Service website, the cheapest rate to send a package of that size and weight to Italy is $133.20 by Priority Mail International (6-10 day delivery). It would be a little cheaper ($126.54) if the postage were purchased online. That is better than your Canadian rate of $268 for the same delivery time, but it's still going to get pretty expensive pretty quickly if he has to buy any quantity of parts from the U.S to fix this.

 

Oooh, sorry to see that I know when I was a kid, my moms 66 s-fire broke the lower control arm behind the ball joint, Dad had it replaced and a couple of years later, it broke again.

 

Does he just need a drum or the drum with hub (as pictured)?

I have several drums, but no hubs left. The hub press-fits into the drum.
They are pretty heavy even without the hub.

 

Jaybird, USPS from my house for the same package would be $136.35 by Priority Mail Int'l. Delivery supposedly in 6-10 days.
Express Mail Int'l. would be $190.25 and 3-5 days.

 

I didn't know the hubs could be pressed out. I'll ask him if he needs the the hub, drum, or both.

& 1 only!!!!!!!!!! == NEW == N.O.S. == Front HUB & DRUM ASSEMBLY!!!!!!!

Also have brake shoes, wheel cylinders, brake hoses, quality wheel bearings & seals, & more....

Have the whole front end, too -- ball joints, bushings, center links, idler arms, tie rods & sleeves, etc......
