57 Olds crash

Hi guys,

Somebody crashed into the left rear corner of my 57.

Now I have to straighten out the frame. I´m looking for the frame measurements. Does anybody out there have them ????
I would be happy for any help !!!

Thanks !

Sec. 12 of the factory service manual doesn't show dimensions. A lot of diagonals are drawn on a frame and the manual says to make the pair of them equal. In other words, from body mount lf to rr, and from rf to lr behind the wheels should be equal.

That's a shame! Hope the sheetmetal can be straightened, too!
A good frameman should be able to figure out those measurements - as said above!
We used to have them at the shop - I'll look, but no promises!
What model??

Thanks guys !

Yes, the body shop said, the sheetmetal could be redone without a new rear quarter panel.

My 57 is a 88 holiday sedan. 4 dr htp.

A good "real" frame shop should have those specs?
Otherwise corner to corner and from a level surface are about all you can do.

Try contacting this place linked below, say they have the specs if you can't find or read yours, no mention of any fee but maybe if they have it you pay, worth a shot.

Good news about the sheet metal. Best of luck on the repair. At least you not in jail for killing the person who hit your Olds, nice job of keeping your temper under control

Thanks guys for all your help. i found something on ebay :

Killing the guy would not speed up the repair of the Olds........

The damage is bigger than you see at the first look :
