Hagerstown, MD cruise night

I took the 62 wagon to cruise night in Hagerstown, MD on Saturday. This is always a well-attended cruise if the weather is nice, but last Saturday was amazing. I'm guessing this was due to the beautiful weather and the fact that we're getting late in the season (and several cruises earlier in the year had been rainouts). The cruise takes place in a roped-off section of the parking lot at the Valley Mall. There's a $2.00 admission, which is applied to a 50-50 raffle with the proceeds going to charity. There was a live band and over 400 cars (the roped off area was filled), some of them quite amazing. There was also the largest number of Oldsmobiles I've ever seen at a public cruise like this.

Besides my 62, there was a 1960 Delta convertible, TWO 1964 442s (one original except for the wheels, one, with a G-block 400 motor, likely a Faux-Four-Two ), a 65 Cutlass Pro Streeter with a tunnel-rammed BBO, a 68, two 69s, a 69 H/O, a 72 Supreme, and a 78 Cutlass. When was the last time you saw even ONE 64 outside of the OCA nationals? There were a Gremlin AND a Marlin parked back-to-back. 69 Camaros were mercifully scarce, but there was a 69 (?) Firebird with a tripower Pontiac motor. A Chevy Monza (the 70s version) with a beautifully done LS2 conversion. A nearly stock 39 Plymouth coupe with some 50s vintage mods. A 33 Ford coupe with an early Hemi AND the matching pushbutton automatic trans (with the stock pushbutton shifter in the dash). A ****** altered street rod. A 62 Skylark to bookend my F-85. Amazing paint, amazing workmanship. All in all an amazing cruise night. This cruise is held on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. If you're in the area, you should attend.

I've attached a few photos, including the real 64 442 and the pro street 65.

Really cool pictures, sounds like an amazingly fun time. To my chagrin I haven't been to a char show in over a year, since maybe spring of '09. I gotta get back in the groove for next spring! That green car is beautiful, is that the Plymouth coupe? Looks like it.

Any pics of the Marlin? I have only seen one on TV, and that was on "Canada's Worst Driver".

It was beautiful. Full roll cage. Narrowed and tubbed. The hood was down but I could see the BBO and Offy tunnel ram through the hole in the hood.
