Sealant for timing chain cover gasket and oil pan gasket

Sealant for timing chain cover gasket and oil pan gasket

Is it ok to use standard RTV for the sealant for the timing cover and oil pan gaskets, or should I be using somethingelse. I plan to use RTV but I figured it was worth double checking before I start.

Permatex grey is great stuff...same stuff GM uses under the GM name
