Custom mods like that belong on 50's - and early 60's cars. It looks silly on a muscle car.

Sorry, but that's already been done. It's called the Buick Skylark.

Photoshop phabrication? ummm lemme think a second....No! There must be something else to sacrifice. The front bumper also looks wrong without the turn signals and raised center. IMO you're changing it to a definite one off that probably will only appeal to you. Anyway, that's what I think.

The Cutlass has the best looking front of the A-body cars why mess with it.

x2

It's your car, as long as you like it, that's all that matters. But if you ever go to sell it, you're probably going to have a hard time getting rid of it.

Looks like you put a nose strip bandaid on the front of the car to keep it from snoring..... SS on a Cutlass? That's just wrong and you know it.

Like some of the others were saying: What's wrong with the original front end? It's one of the nicest A Body designs that came out of the 70's. Like my pappy always use to say, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". He also used to say "If you break it, I'll fix you too!!".

I'm sorry but it takes away from the car. It doesn't add to the looks.

It looks like a Chevelle grill in a Cutlass. It's like a teacher on Saturday "NO CLASS"

If you want to set your car apart from the crowd, how about an aftermarket OAI hood? You mentioned you have some fabrication skills, so even if you buy a cheaper one you may be able to make it fit and look good. I really really like the looks of the 1970, 1971-72 OAI hoods and for good measure you could get a repop trunk lid spoiler. Check out the photos of some of the cars here and see what you think. I've had lots of positive comments about the hood, and one guy even asked if I made it myself Several people on this site have them, but out in the real world they are not very common!

Keep the olds looking like an olds...they have a face to luv...I like the nose band aid comment to keep it from snoring so maybe it should have a quiet single exhaust

Wow! Yo guys are really gona tell me this doesn't look great? I know what you mean about removing the ss logo on the grill but yo have to admit this looks great, its actuall growing on me,all I would have to do is relocate the latch and strap some aluminum trim to the center hood section,if in doubt it can always be undone since the center piece is not one with the hood, I also know you guys are oldsmobile at heart and would hate disgracing the olds image but its not like I'm trying to make it a chevelle,no offense to the chevelle, the 70 looks good

Well get ready, no it doesn't make it look more like a Chevelle. You have a great car as is and putting a Chevy truck engine in it and cutting it up to make it a one off. Has me thinking that you really want to get into big project and nothing wrong with that.

But lets get something else for a project and leave the Cutlass as is and drive the car and enjoy it. By saving money and keeping it as much Olds as you can will keep its value and to be honest you will enjoy it more.

If you want a big project and you like to fabricate how about a pipe buggy something fun like that. You can build an home made one and have a lot of fun and you tell all your friends what all it took to build it. When your driving them around in your cool stock looking Cutlass that they really like because it looks better and is cooler than their ricer.

Sorry Kid but that would be a NOOOO! The first pic looks like a Buick and the second one looks like a Buick with a touch of Chevelle. I can appreciate you wanting to be creative and different but leave the Olds as is. Buy a Buick and modify the nose to look like an Olds

I think you should put lasers on it!

It looks '75 Chebby Crapice-like to me.
BTW Bluevista, I had a 75 Chevy Caprice just like that when I was in high school! I still have the truck script from it. That brings back memories.

You will find I am one of the most liberal here when it comes to changing things. I will say it again major body changes are hard to pull off and look right and any muscle car. If you want to start cutting and hacking build a pick up or a early 60's and older car.

Yes, that's exactly what we're telling you. The dip in the center of the grille does not go with a one-piece grill. Sorry, but your mods are not aesthetically pleasing.
