Early 70 power disc master type?
Early 70 power disc master type?
Does anyone know what style power disc master cylinder was used in on early 70 models? Specific October 69. I am pretty sure most of the 70 model run used the rectangular single bale type but i have heard early cars may have gotten the early oval type with dual bale and EA stamp. Does anyone have a good shot of lines and valves on both types? Thanks in advance.
My October 1969 built W30 had a single bail master cylinder code “EB” with a casting number 5470409. I have yet see a 1970 model year Cutlass, 442, or “W” machine with a 1969 disc brake master cylinder (dual bail) as your describing.
I have seen several 4-4-2s from the '70 model year that used the earlier "bathtub" style dual-bale MC, but I don't know if that was correct for the application, nor do I know the build dates. However, the cars did look to be pretty high-end and authentic restorations.
That is good info guys, I think Joe/s car being the same as what I'm working on may be the best bet. Interesting that all of the 1970 442 road test cars when they give a shot of the engine compartment seem to show single bail type. Press cars are usually early cars as well..
