Somebody was passing out these flyers at the car show I attended a couple weeks ago, and I thought "what the hell..." I'll see what happens. So I submitted a nomination not really expecting to get chosen. Well, the next day I received confirmation...I'm in!
This is the AACA for you. Very carefully staged shows. The presentation is as important as the cars being shown. Limited number of cars so they will all fit onto the designated show field. Can't have them spilling onto adjacent side streets or in undesignated parking lots. Don't want any beaters or whatever. I would also think they are looking for a mix of cars, so that 40 of the 50 aren't '60s Chevys or something like that. Also probably don't want duplicates, so you might have a gorgeous '65 Mustang, but if they already have a Mustang, yours might not be accepted no matter how beautiful it is. This is where your car being an Oldsmobile probably helped. Not as many of those at cars shows as Fords and Chevys, as we all know.
Take lots of photos and let us see what it was like.
