What's this above glove box trim in '72 98

What's this above glove box trim in '72 98

Just noticed this today - looks like a 1" wide little black plastic slot. What is this???

probably a sensor for the climate control

Correct… the aspirator tube for the inside temperature sensor for Comfortron attaches on the back of that opening. Hope this helps, Dave
